Vicente Sederburg

BACKGROUND

When we established our firm in 2010, we started with just a handful of employees in a small office suite in Denver. Today, our firm has grown to nearly 100 employees, including about three dozen attorneys, with offices in Denver, Boston, Los Angeles, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Austin, and Jacksonville. We also maintain strategic relationships with leading firms across the U.S. and globally, specializing in critical areas of law for cannabis clients.

Our firm and many of our team members are recognized as leaders in cannabis law and policy. We are proud to be ranked a Band 1 law firm by Chambers and Partners USA in its “Nationwide: Cannabis Law” category and have been named “Cannabis Law – Law Firm of the Year” twice by the Chambers USA Awards. Additionally, five of our partners are individually ranked in Chambers. We are recognized in the Best Law Firms® list for Corporate Law, Land Use & Zoning Law, and Real Estate. Five Vicente LLP partners have been included in the National Law Journal’s “Cannabis Law Trailblazers,” and Business Insider named Vicente LLP one of “the top 7 law firms in cannabis.” We are also listed among the “Top Cannabis Law Firms” by Green Market Report and Cannabis Law Report.

Vicente LLP is a trusted source of information and analysis, frequently appearing in major news organizations such as USA Today, the Associated Press, the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, the Denver Post, the Boston Globe, Rolling Stone, Bloomberg Law, Forbes, Politico, Law.com, Law360, CNN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Channel, the BBC, and the CBC.

ADVISING VISIONARIES

Our business clients are trailblazers, building a new and vibrant industry from the ground up. They have consciously chosen to take risks to change the course of history. As trailblazers ourselves, we take pride in guiding them through unique legal, regulatory, and business challenges. We understand every aspect of the cannabis industry, even those not yet fully developed. Whether you are a veteran or new to the industry, we can assist and guide you.

SHAPING POLICY

While other firms provide legal representation to marijuana industry clients, none can match Vicente LLP’s influence in shaping cannabis and hemp laws. Our attorneys wrote Amendment 64, which established the legal marijuana market in Colorado, and served on the governor’s task force to implement the law. We have been hired by local governments to draft marijuana ordinances and have worked with state and national officials to develop medical and adult-use cannabis laws. Our attorneys have helped shape regulations at local, state, and national levels. Through these experiences, Vicente LLP has developed a strong reputation for responsible and pragmatic policy work, with our voices respected and opinions sought both in the U.S. and abroad.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Vicente LLP has roots in the drug policy reform movement, and this activist spirit and commitment to advancing the common good have been central to our culture and identity for over a decade. We remain deeply involved in advocacy and pro bono work that reflects our core values of compassion, justice, diversity, liberty, and social responsibility. We encourage our clients to see the bigger picture, where all our areas of expertise come together. Having fought for years to end marijuana prohibition, we view regulated cultivation and sale as the means to finally put that failed system to rest. We are committed to growing the industry responsibly, focusing not solely on profits but on building an industry we can all be proud of. View our inaugural Impact Report, where we reflect on our work in 2021, celebrate our commitment to community, and look forward to a future of positive, meaningful, and measurable impact.
