DCMJ was established in spring 2013 by Adam Eidinger, Alan Amsterdam, and Nikolas Schiller to reform the outdated marijuana laws in the District of Columbia. In July 2013, DCMJ transformed into the DC Cannabis Campaign to advocate for Ballot Initiative 71. By May 2015, it reverted to DCMJ, a community group dedicated to securing equal rights for DC cannabis users, growers, and their families.
