Jacquie Cohen Roth, MS, founded CannabizMD in 2017 with the vision of establishing a distinctive ecosystem to bolster the emerging U.S. medical cannabis industry. The organization’s founding mission was to educate, cultivate, and engage a community that would support the growth and sustainability of Maryland’s burgeoning cannabis sector through the exchange of ideas and innovative practices. Shortly thereafter, CannabizMD’s website content and programs garnered national and international recognition from industry professionals. Jacquie’s vision of creating a global resource to address the lack of quality medical cannabis science and policy education became a reality. The CannabizMD ecosystem encompasses medical cannabis company owners and operators, physicians, advanced practice healthcare providers, regulators, researchers, scientists, policy influencers, and ancillary service providers, all working together to promote the industry’s highest standards and improve patient outcomes.

CannabizMD’s values align with the vision, culture, and values of its ecosystem members. Inspired by the Hebrew concept of “tikkun olam,” meaning “repair of the world,” CannabizMD and its partners are committed to acting constructively and beneficially for society, fostering passion, transparency, teamwork, accountability, determination, and a strong willingness to adapt and grow.
