Bennabis Health

One of the founders of Bennabis Health, Anne, understands firsthand the importance of medical cannabis for patients. Diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis in 2013, Anne faced a choice between the prescribed drug regimen with its associated monitoring and using cannabis. She opted for cannabis and has since thrived medically, with her initially skeptical physician now acknowledging her decision as wise. However, Anne’s health insurance did not cover medical cannabis due to federal classification as a Schedule I drug.

Bennabis Health aims to address this issue for Anne and other medical cannabis users. It seeks to bridge the gaps in health insurance for these patients, providing coverage where federal restrictions have left them without. Inspired by Anne’s experience, Don Parisi, a dispensary board member, former health plan president, and former New Jersey Deputy Attorney General for the Commissioner of Insurance, founded Bennabis Health. It is the first program to offer coverage for medical marijuana users, supported by a team of professionals with diverse backgrounds in the cannabis industry, health insurance, claims, legal, and financial fields.
