Asian Cannabis Roundtable

In the heart of Manhattan’s Koreatown, the Asian Cannabis Roundtable took root after New York implemented its medical marijuana program in 2016. Founder Kristin Jordan began building a presence in the local cannabis scene by networking with professionals interested in the program, aiming to unite Asians navigating this new industry. From 2016 to 2019, community members informally gathered in Manhattan to discuss formalizing their growing group and establishing shared goals. The Asian Cannabis Roundtable officially formed in 2019. As meetings commenced, members embarked on a mission to promote an equitable and inclusive cannabis industry while showing solidarity with communities disproportionately affected by racist drug policies. In 2021, the Asian Cannabis Roundtable launched its public meetings with a virtual event that brought together 60 Asian cannabis professionals nationwide. As the Asian Cannabis Roundtable continues to expand, it pledges to ensure that Asian voices are heard in these critical conversations and that Asian communities remain a top priority in cannabis-related matters. The ACR advocates for the best interests of people of Asian descent working in the cannabis sector and its supporting industries. To achieve this, the ACR focuses on education, networking, public policy advocacy, and providing support and resources to members and communities. The ACR recognizes and embraces the diversity of Asians across all national, international, and diasporic communities.
